A portrait of the people, architecture and marks of time of Kfir Neighbourhood in south west of the city of Tel-Aviv.

Some time before a reconstruction project that will destroy the architectural planning from the 50’s.

Two people inhabit a space tailored to their dimensions. Chair, bed, bath, door, hallway, toilet and refrigerator - all adapted to their average human bodies. In this state, they begin to disrupt the boundaries of the interior with the exterior to generate minimalistic natural phenomena. They lose grip so they can drift for a moment. Just until everything will come together again.

Frida, my grandmother is giving me Feldenkrais instructions (she has been a teacher for over 50 years). We try to share the same time and space. The poetry of this moment in time, comes together through words, movements and life advices from the older to the younger.

‘100 Metre’ is an online screendance festival, made within the constrains of Covid-19 lockdown. Following this event, Jerusalem-based Between Heaven and Earth wanted to create another output, one that would bring the ideas that were initiated at home to the stage.

While the date of ‘100 Metre Live’ was near, the government announced shutting down theaters once again. Therefore, what was supposed to be a live event turned online again, but was filmed and developed for and on the stage.

This experiment began with my wish to find a way to be present in my own body, and at the same time in other person’s body, until we reach a state of disorientation between the two. To create the piece it was important for me to develop qualities of concentration and awareness to bodily sensations while rehearsing, as well as performing. Also, I wanted to have moments of improvisation that authentic sensations could cross and sensed by the audience. I wanted that the spectators would be able to feel their own physical sensations while watching the piece.

A video installation containing 3 simultaneous screens that produce a singular space. With simple actions of construction and deconstruction, such as a natural phenomena, the action carried out by the figures creates technology within themselves, through the technology of the medium. The loop is infinite and changes gradually in each round.

The project began after finding a place of respite which becomes activated by the performative actions in the space, resulting in the transformation of the space into both a studio and a stage. 

The duality of technology comes back into being also within the musicality performed in the work and the music layered onto the work. 

This place allows textures and forms create a non linear, non verbal relationship which is accurate and intimate.
